Frisky Sour Smoothie

One more recipe for a smoothie that’ll definitely become one of your favorites once you try it! Its full taste, color, and energy will make your day not to mention all the benefits it will give you. But, first, let’s make it and then we’ll discuss ‘bout all good stuff it gives us.
Ingredients:
• ½ papaya
• ½ grapefruit (you can use either red or white, depends on your taste)
• 150 g (5oz) raspberries
• ½ lime
Preparation Method:
Juice the flesh of papaya with the grapefruit (pith left on) and the raspberries. Squeeze in the lime juice and mix together. Serve with a few ice cubes and, if liked, decorate with lime slices or with mint leaves (which are my choice).
Its sweet-bitter taste is really something special, believe me! I like it on hot summer mornings and days; it really freshens and wakens up! Plus-it has enough energy that only a single croissant and this smoothie are enough for your breakfast.
Papayas are rich in Anti-oxidants, the B vitamins, folate and pantothenic acid; minerals, potassium and magnesium as well as in fiber. Together, these nutrients promote the health of the cardiovascular system and provide protection against colon cancer.
Grapefruit contains citric acid, natural sugars, essential oils, a lot of vitamin C and smaller amounts of vitamin A, B complex, E and K. It contains valuable bioflavonoids and other anti-cancer agents. It is good in fighting atherosclerosis, common cold, breast cancer, diabetes, cholesterol, fatigue, fever, insomnia, sore throat, for those who want to lose weight, etc.
Raspberries are full of antioxidants, natural sugars, vitamins and minerals and it is said that they are excellent for overall health, macular degeneration especially.
Lime is also full of vitamin C, and on it I wrote recently so you can read it here. Plus it has antioxidant and antibiotic effects, and gives good protection against rheumatoid arthritis.
