Be healthy and fit- the imperative of all peoples, of all times which is easier said than done. But with few decisions that everyone should take and follow, this should be no problem. And the first of these decisions is- do not wait, start right NOW!!!

One of the best ways to keep your weight during these cold, wintry months is to eat healthy meals that are prepared very easily and fast, and yet they will keep your mind and tummy fed. Another way is to replace your favorite high in calories snacks for nutritiously richer but healthier alternatives.

Advice No.1: I almost do not know person who doesn’t like chocolate. So, this tip is for those who can’t make themselves refrain from it. Make yourselves a cup of hot chocolate that contains less fats and sugars. Even better alternative is a hot cocoa.

Advice No.2: For those who rather eat fruits, but need “something more with it in the winter time”, here’s a good one: take out the core of the apple and fill the empty space with dried grapes; then put apple in the oven and bake it for about 30 minutes. When it cools down, dress it with a teaspoon of sugar free cream, or a little lemon juice, or eat it without any dressing. It is delicious, believe me!

Advice No.3: If you crave for pizza, try to swap it for oven-baked sweet potatoes with a little cheese added. The method is next: do not peel potatoes! Wash them thoroughly in cold water, then put them in hot oven and bake them for about an hour. When it is done, half-cut potatoes, on each half add a little cheese, a slice of law fat ham, and a little bit of onion. The taste is awesome, and the number of calories comparing it to pizza is significantly lesser.

Advice No.4: If you, on the other hand, crave for hamburgers, swap it for tasty mushroom sauce! You can add potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, onions, carrots, celery and whichever vegetables you like, put it in the saucepan, and cook it! Mushrooms are a good substitution for meat, they are very healthy, and have less calories and fats, which are main culprits for adding on weight!

Advice No.5: If you are a cookie-eater and can’t refrain yourself from them, make your own muffins with a little honey or sweet syrup added over; or you can make pancakes (with only a little bit of oil) and fill them also with a dash of honey and lemon juice. This way you’ll have your cookies, and yet you’ll save yourself a lot of calories.

Enjoy my winter tips and keep up exercising! It is still the best way of keeping your body fit!
