This banana strawberry and chia seeds smoothie is excellent way to start your day. As most of the smoothies, it is easily prepared and won’t take you much time in the morning rush.
Bananas are one of the most consumed fruits on the planet. They help with the depression and mood issues, prevent risks from type – 2 diabetes, help with weight loss and digestion, and are also good for heart health. One interesting fact about bananas is that their peel is actually edible. It is full of B6 and B12 vitamins, fiber and proteins. It is important to carefully wash a banana peel before eating it due to the pesticides that may be sprayed in banana groves. It can be cooked, boiled or fried, though they can be eaten raw or put in a blender with other fruits. They are not as sweet as banana flesh. Riper peels will be sweeter than unripe ones.
Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen each spring. Despite their name, they are not berries – fun fact. Full of antioxidants and vitamin C, they can regulate the blood sugar levels, have anti-inflammatory effects and are good for memory.
Chia seeds are called “super-foods”, and not without a reason. It gives us strength, improves our immune system and boosts energy. It is full of fiber, omega – 3 fatty acids, calcium, iron, and many more vitamins and minerals.
Now, let’s make this banana strawberry and chia seeds smoothie. But first, you have to make chia – pudding the night before, to make things easy in the morning.
Chia Seeds Pudding:
- 4 spoons of chia seeds
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 2 tsp of honey
Put chia seeds in the bowl, add milk and give it a good stir to mix well. Add honey and mix again. Put in the fridge, and in the morning, you’ll have your pudding.
Banana Strawberry and Chia Seeds Smoothie:
First thing in the morning is to divide chia pudding in two jars, or glasses. This is the smoothie for two. If you make it to yourself, half the ingredients, and if you need for more persons, add more. You’ll have to calculate.
Then make layers and add them over chia pudding, and you’ll have your smoothie.
- 2 bananas (1 frozen, 1 fresh)
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 2 spoons of almond milk
Put all ingredients in a blender, give it a whizz until it gets smooth, and pour it over chia pudding.
- 200 g of strawberries
- 2 spoons of almond milk
Put it all in a blender and blend until nice and smooth and pour over your banana layer.
And that’s it. Your three layered banana, strawberry and chia seeds smoothie is done. I like to decorate it with almonds, bananas or strawberries, depending on what I have in the kitchen.
